I am a Colorado native, and have spent many days exploring this beautiful state. Some years ago I decided it would be a good idea to photograph the places I've been to in order to show people, rather than trying to describe what I have seen. While I like the Grand Vistas and amazing panoramics the state has to offer, I really enjoy looking into the smaller areas, getting the intimate shot of a place. It is truly amazing to me the incredible beauty most of us miss, while wandering around in the outdoors.
I also enjoy
Macro photography, I believe it gives a subject a new life, when most of us see a bunching of pretty columbine, I like to discover the spider inside the flower, or the intricate lacing of a web. I am also a very big fan of water, it is one of my favorite subjects. I enjoy the dynamics of water, the soothing feeling it gives when standing next to a slow moving river or a raging waterfall.
I am into
photographic experimentation as well, shooting in the dark and lighting a subject with just a flashlight, (painting with light), abstracts in nature, experimenting with Photoshop,
Black and White photography, and even remote wildlife imaging.
So please join me as I continue to learn, discover and be amazed at the natural world with which we all must live, and strive to preserve, not only for our children but our children's children.
I have always felt that it is not the camera but the person behind the camera that makes the difference.
With that being said, I will admit to using a Canon Digital system for all the images on this site. I also employ several different accessories as well, depending on where I am going and what I am shooting will dictate what gets carried along.
I use a combination of Adobe Photoshop and the new Adobe Lightroom to process the digital files. I try to do very little manipulation on the computer, I want people to see the scene as I saw it. If an image is altered in an extreme way I will make sure that you are aware of this.
I use a very respectable print lab and personally inspect each and every print to ensure the quality that you expect.
